CHI CHOW
Chi graduated from University of Liverpool in Biology and Nutrition. Whilst studying at university, Chi published a joint paper with his lecturer on nutrition and local communities. At the same time, he worked in the labs under his PhD peers on a funded project on adulteration in milk products.
After University, he moved into the corporate world of scientific equipment and applications, where he gained 8 years of experience in scientific applications of various scientific fields, in particular food science fields.
In 2014, Chi founded MYOBAND - a health supplement brand and pioneered the world’s first protein juice, which opened a brand new category in the health supplements market. Other products innovations included Protein Coffee RTDs, Energy sweets and Protein Cereal.
Chi is a Alumni at the University of Chester, where he actively takes work based learning students, affiliation to the Food Labs and provides talks.
GAVINLEE ELLISON
Ex Professional Footballer who is now an awarding-winning commercial executive with an MSc in Sports Directorship, Gavinlee has vast experience successfully building brands in a number of different countries and geographical regions.
Currently the founder and owner of Amplify Commercial a global brand acceleration company and Managing Director of ‘proptech’ Hasukey UK, Gavinlee focuses on the strategic implantation of commercial strategies and the acceleration of brand awareness for his clients. The sole focus is to enable brands to acquire a stronger market position, create additional revenues streams and their brand expansion which has been achieved in Southeast Asia, Asia, North America, and Europe.
Gavinlee now has over 2 decades of experience building brands, negotiating international contracts and managing teams to a successful outcome.
ED TOOLEY
Ed Tooley is a performance nutritionist who has been working in the field of elite sport for over 10 years.
A Sports Science graduate of Swansea University, Ed went on to study the IOC Diploma in Sport Nutrition whilst on a year long placement split between Wales Rugby Union national squad and Ospreys Rugby. After this, Ed went on to consult across a range of sports, abilities and age groups, including International Rugby League & Rugby Union, International Basketball, International Athletics, Professional Boxing, and Premiership Football. During this period Ed went on to complete a part time MSc at Sheffield Hallam and the Institute of Performance Nutrition’s ‘Diploma in Performance Nutrition’.
Ed’s career has seen him as part of the performance staff supporting teams such as England Rugby League, Manchester United FC Academy, the Jordan National Taekwondo Federation; Scotland Rugby Union as well as working with a range of individual clients from backgrounds such as professional boxing, tennis, athletics, and also non sporting backgrounds looking at health and performance of corporate individuals.
JAMES LAVERY
Graduating with an Economics degree, James has spent the last 10 years working in Food production and Supply chain for multiple businesses.
After graduating, James needed to earn money to achieve his dream Australian trip, however after being given an opportunity to work for a supplement company, he quickly progressed through the ranks to oversee the whole production process, where it was started from scratch.
Realising he had the ability to start a production company, he decided to start his own production company in 2016, specialising in producing health supplements.
He is currently the managing director for Proprotein Ltd.
